Seminar
on Stochastic Processes 2025
Indiana University, Bloomington
March 19-22, 2025
Made possible with the generous support of the
National Science Foundation, an Indiana University Research and
the Research Conference Grant and the Indiana University,
Bloomington Statistics and Math Departments.
The Seminar on
Stochastic Processes (SSP) is a series of annual conferences
devoted to cutting edge
topics in probability theory, stochastic processes and
statistics. Every conference features five invited
speakers, offers tutorial lectures, and provides opportunity for
poster presentations of recent results and open problems.
Additional background and historical information may be found on
the SSP's
permanent website.
Local participants, graduate students and postdocs may register for free by entering the code SSPREG25 on the second page of the link above. We hope to have some limited funding available to defray conference travel expenses for graduate students and postdocs. Please register by February 15th, 2025 to receive full consideration for this funding.

Lightning Talks and Poster Session
All registered conference participants will have the opportunity to present a poster and/or apply to give a four minute `lightning talk’. Neither is mandatory but we would particularly like to encourage early career participants to share their research. For those who would like to present a lighting talk please send a title, abstract and a .pdf of your proposed presentation with no more than 4 slides (including your title slide) by March 7th to our conference coordinator Riley Reese (rireese@iu.edu). Unfortunately all submissions must be made by this date for any consideration and we cannot guarantee in advance that everyone will be able to present a lightning talk (but we will have at least 36 slots).
Lodging Information
The main speakers will be lodged at the Biddle Hotel & Conference Center which is located within the Indiana Memorial Union a short walk to the conference venue. For conference participants we have reserved a block of rooms at this hotel over the period March 18-March 22 at a rate of $139 for a single queen and $169 for a double queen or single king. Please follow this link to make a reservation.
Venue Information
The conference will take place in Swain West on the Indiana University, Bloomington campus. A map of other local venue information can be found here.
Parking
For participants who are driving we recommend parking at Henderson-Atwater Parking Garage. We will provide parking passes for the duration of the conference for those who need one. Just take a ticket and then ask for a weekly pass at our conference registration desk.
Social Events
A conference dinner will take place on Friday, March 21 @ 6:30pm at Tudor Room within the Indiana Memorial Union.
On March 19 at 7pm, the Women in Probability group will organize a dinner and social event at Samira Restaurant.
